5 Thriller/Mystery Books by Female Authors

If you’re looking for a *spooky* thriller to read for all your fall girl dreams while you curl up with a PSL, we’ve got some recommendations for you. As a lover of all things spooky, and reading, here are 5 thriller/mystery novels by some amazing female authors that I can’t recommend enough:

Verity by Colleen Hoover

Holy twists and turns Batman. This book had me SHOOK from the first few chapters. My husband tried to talk to me during a pivotal point in the plot and I almost jumped out of my skin. I’m not giving you any backstory on it because I am too scared of spoilers. READ IT.

All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham

I BLEW threw this book on vacation in less that 2 days. This story is gripping, and all the moms will relate to the main character whose life is turned upside down when her son is abducted, but also will make you pound your fist in the air when she never gives up on finding him. Full Mama Bear mode meets eery psychological thriller.

The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

If you love a classic whodunnit, then read this book. Think: cruise ship, a body being thrown overboard, and a duo trying to solve the case while stuck onboard with all the suspects. It’ll go places you simply cannot predict. I’m a HUGE Ruth Ware fan (as seen by the second book of hers I’m recommending below).

A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham

Picture this: girl whose father is a serial killer, and has been put away since she was a kid for murdering six girls she knew in their hometown. Now in present day 20 years later, girls start going missing in an eerily similar way. SuPeR sPoOkY vIbEs.

In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware

Only context I will give you: don’t read this right before a mountain bachelorette getaway. Because you won’t want to go.
