Are You Considering Ozempic or Optavia? Read This First

Listen, there’s no doubt about it that these diets “work” … temporarily. But what happens when you’re off of the meds? Or when you stop eating Optivia products and try to navigate the world of real food again?

Here are the issues I see with Optavia:

  • Lack of whole foods & nutrients

  • Extremely restrictive calorie intake

  • Not sustainable

  • Zero personalization to your body/needs

  • Zero focus on changing your lifestyle/habits

Here are the issues I see with Ozempic (or any of the GLP-1 receptor agonists):

  • Um.. thyroid tumors

  • Inflammation of the pancreas

  • Gallbladder issues

  • Decreases kidney function

  • STOMACH PARALYSIS

  • Not sustainable

  • Zero personalization to your body/needs

  • Zero focus on changing your lifestyle/habits

  • Expensive

  • Zero exit plan to keep the weight off

  • So much more. I can just keep going off

I’ve had countless conversations with clients joining our team that have utilized these methods to “get a head start” only to find themselves digging their hole deeper from extreme deficit damage or even more health issues after the products.

They may be tempting but don’t be fooled by the transformations. It’s just a very small snapshot of what’s actually happening.

I read a salty post from someone a few weeks back saying that health coaches were threatened by Ozempic.

To me, that is insane to think and it’s literally the last thing on my mind because this medication is just the beginning of a whole new wave of people needing help once the weight (and more) comes back and they are dealing with a whole new list of health issues.

If you’re on the fence with either of these products, I hope this post helps you feel a little more informed and at least makes you think twice.

At the very least- If you’re still on board for either of the products, make sure you have an exit plan that helps you recover and relearn how to eat in the real world.
