You Aren’t Going to Fix Your Hormones Without Doing This
I know, I know. Another blog on stress.
But hear me out!
Stress puts the body in a fight-or-flight state. This state is our body’s survival mechanism. It ensures we are awake, alert, and ready for the perceived threat. This is an amazing function of the body.
However, the issue arises when we are experiencing chronic stress or stressors. It keeps our body in this ongoing state of fight or flight.
This state ensures our body is flooded with hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline but down-regulates the production of other hormones such as thyroid hormones and sex hormones.
So if you want to fix your hormone imbalance, the one thing you need to do is manage your stress. We need to fill up our bucket more than we empty it.
Stress or stressors that empty our bucket –
Emotional stress
Financial stress
Physical stress
Lack of sleep
Processed foods
Always saying YES
Toxin exposure
Always being on the go
Dehydration
Bacterial infections
Strategies that fill up our bucket –
Practicing gratitude
Laughter
Stillness
Deep breathing, prayer, meditation
Balanced blood sugar levels
Daily movement & exercise
Good quality and quantity of sleep
Eating nutritious foods
Having fun
Sunlight on the skin
Taking care of YOU will take care of your hormones!
