Why Diets Don’t Work
❌Quick fix mindset
We all want results yesterday…
Even after being at this for 11 years I’m still impatient for more. Unfortunately, nothing good happens quickly. Crash diets are a sure way to cause more harm than good.
🚩Creates a false sense of control that ends once the mission is accomplished
🚩A means to the goal with no awareness around sustainability after (how do you maintain the progress???)
🚩Sure way to instill food fear
🚩Extreme measures usually come with consequences such as muscle loss, slowed metabolism, hormonal issues
🚩Most diets do not give you enough satisfaction which can lead to binge episodes
❌The endless diet phase
Metabolic adaptation is when the body becomes acclimated to a low calorie intake. As a way of protecting itself from scarce resources, your body begins to slow all of its processes (goodbye revving metabolism). Initially you lose weight at 1500 calories but eventually no matter how hard you try to stay consistent you eventually cannot lose weight. Unfortunately, instead of increasing calories and returning the body and metabolism to homeostasis, many women keep cutting calories further.. This is a sure way to run your body into the ground, halt fat-loss and feel like absolute shit.
👏🏼The idea is NOT to constantly restrict. You will see the best results when you CONSISTENTLY:
✅Eat adequate calories
✅Prioritize protein
✅Eat high quality foods
✅Workout to build muscle
✅Sleep 7-8 hours
✅Work on controlling stress
