Balancing Summer Fun With Your Goals
Summer is a HARD time to focus on anything but FUN
There are a couple ways you can approach the Summer season:
Understand it’s not the best time to actively strive for fat loss because of busy schedules, “fun” activities, less routine, and more alcohol. Therefore, stick to your daily habits as much as possible but don’t stress about not making serious progress.
Set yourself up for success by avoiding temptations and therefore having a little less socialization. If you are the type of person who loves to enjoy things in the moment and can’t easily turn down foods and drinks that don’t align with your goal, you HAVE TO put distance between you and those social events.
Your environment is everything so be sure to check who you are spending time with and how they help or hinder your progress.
Ultimately it is up to YOU. Yes, you have a busy schedule, kids to take care of, a house to tend to, and a job that has to get done, BUT you still get to decide what you do with your free time. If you aren’t happy with your body or lifestyle it comes down to getting uncomfortable with saying NO more often and prioritizing what makes you successful.
Typically this looks like:
Limiting alcohol to 1-2 days per week or completely cutting it out
Grocery shopping weekly
Food prep / bulk prep protein sources
Limiting eating away from home
Prioritizing special events
Sticking to the basics – sleep, water, movement
