Why Medical Weight Loss Isn’t the Answer
Before you make fun of kids for believing in Santa…
Remember that there are grown-ass adults who believe that Ozempic is the answer to their weight loss problem.
Yes, I am at it again with Ozempic or any GLP1-AR that is being prescribed to the average person who doesn’t need it to lose weight.
I won’t get into the side effects this time around, but I do want to point out why Ozempic isn’t the answer to your issue with losing weight.
Simply put: you’re completely f*cking your metabolism up.
These meds suppress your appetite significantly. I’ve had some report eating less than 600 cals a day because the thought of food actually made them nauseous. Suppressed appetite/nausea = less calorie intake.
Eating significantly less calories = likely experiencing weight loss.
There’s no doubt that this sh*t works. I’m sure most of your reading this have seen some pretty intense transformations.
BUT… what’s going to happen when food doesn’t make you nauseous anymore? What’s going to happen when your appetite starts sneaking up? (Aka being off of the meds.)
Is this where you’re supposed to be “disciplined” and stick to your diet of not eating anything? Just ignore how literally starving you are?
Let me answer that for you. No. You won’t be sticking to it. And if you do, you’re in worse trouble than when you started because you’re forcing your body and metabolism to figure out how to function with a severe deficit.
This sh*t is a quick fix with high risk on so many levels. You need to know how to fuel your body and move your body for sustainable health and weight loss. That’s it.
Now, before you get your damn panties in a twist, there is a population who actually need this medication. Sadly, the people that need the medication are now dealing with a shortage because average people are swiping this sh*t up like it’s candy. I’m not talking to the population of diabetics who need this medication.
